The skin pad accurately replicates multiple layers, including the epidermis, dermis, subcutaneous tissue, and muscle, with the dura mater positioned in the deeper section. Each layer is crafted from distinct materials to provide a realistic tissue response during suturing.
The included jig maintains proper skin tension for an optimal training experience. The skin pad is highly durable, allowing for multiple practice sessions. Once used extensively, replacement skin pads and dura mater components can be purchased separately, enabling continued use of the acrylic jig and other reusable parts.
